The Union of Concerned Scientists, Arizona Advocacy Network, Mi Familia Vota, and the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona invite you to an online workshop to discuss COVID-19, its impact on our ability to safely participate in the democratic process, and the pandemic’s disproportionate impact on marginalized communities in Arizona.
Date: Tuesday, June 9
Time: 4:00–5:30 p.m. (AZ Time)
This online workshop will bring together an Arizona-wide group of scientists and activists with a focus on environmental justice, voting rights advocacy, and science. Participants will learn why taking action in this election is vital to pushing back against injustices that are linked to exclusion from the democratic process.
Attendees will leave the workshop with accurate information on how COVID-19, democratic participation, and environmental justice are connected and impacting communities in Arizona. We will also provide steps you can take to elevate these issues in your community in the months leading up to the election.
